Excel->SQL is Extremely useful!
I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw the thing working  :shock: ... and to think that i was about to pay for something else!  :lol:
Thanks man, great job.
By the way, could you publish the code by any chance? Just in case the server crashes or anything.

Hi Firehead,

Thanks for the comments.

Unfortunately, no, the code on for Perceptus Web Tools is not going to be open sourced anytime soon.  It has not been examined from a security standpoint, so I can't put it the code out there.  Besides that, I may be wanting to do something more substantial with the site in the future.

did you change your mind?

your code helped me out of getting an excel spreadsheet to an oracle database.
but i had to manually change a lot in the generated sql-code.  fields with dates,
numbers, ...

so i would be very happy, if you could send me the code for enhancing it a bit.
adding a new line with datatypes and/or transformation rules.

what do you think about that.

regards,
bozinsky

Sorry, no.  That bit of code stays closed-source for the time being.  Revamping tools.perceptus.ca is on the drawing board... it get's a lot more traffic than I ever expected it would get. Rather than make specific enhancements for Oracle, I've got some rough ideas for some ways to make it more useful for a lot of situations.

But, there's a lot of stuff ahead of it on the to-do list...

Hey, I spent 1-2 hours to do this, tried a lot of sophisticated software, but could not do a simple xls->sql conversion.
Many thanks to this tool, works perfectly!
