31  The Forums / Bingo Card Generator / Re: can I delete saved designs from my premium acess? on: March 04, 2009, 07:58:55 PM
Hi Heather,

Sorry, no, not yet.  Deleting card designs is on the to-do list, but it's not currently a feature.

Hi JoAnn,

I sent a similar response to your email earlier today... but for future readers of the forum:

Each card is randomly generated.  From a "uniqueness" point of view, there's no difference between one run of 200 cards or 10 runs of 20 cards.

To generate the call sheet or the calling chips for drawing from a hat, just load your card design.  On the customization form, there are four radio buttons that choose bingo card, calling card, etc.

I hate replying to myself... but just in case someone browses to this old thread (which itself has gotten bumped to the top of the list because of spam activity)...

There are now shortcuts to a pre-configured custom bingo card design that let's you print call sheets and draw chips for regular numeric cards easily.

It's here: http://print-bingo.com/print-bingo-cards.php#num.  Click on the "numeric bingo cards for customization" link.

Hi njevj,

Yes.  Premium access allows you to create up to 200 pages (which is up to 800 cards at 4 per page) at a time.  You can run multiple runs to get more cards beyond that.

Hi Colie,

Each card is generated randomly and independently. The odds are very slim that you would get duplicate cards.

Please keep in mind that Bingo can be won simultaneously with different cards as well.  I.e. in all games there is more than one way to get to a winning combination.  E.g. Person A might not have the first number drawn while Person B has it on their card, but Person A might have 2nd number drawn while the Person B doesn't. But both might still end up getting Bingo at the same time later on.

Hmm, I'm not sure if that example was entirely clear. The point is that even if we were to guarantee no duplicates (which we do not) there would still be the potential for multiple winners in all games.

Hi Maddie,

Sorry, we don't have any way to upload or use images such as logos at this time.

Note: I split the topic from the original thread that this was attached to.  I missed the post when it was first submitted.

Hi Daphne,

I might have spoken to you by phone already...    could you please tell me what kind of computer you are using (i.e. Apple or Windows) and which web browser you are using (e.g. Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer)?

Also, please try saving the "manual bingo cards" link to your documents folder and then opening that file.

Regards,

Leonard

The centre square is often a "free" spot on the card.  Some people like to customize it or put an "*".

Or you can disable the free space and let our website put one of the words or phrases there.

Hi,

You'll need to provide a bit more information before I can provide much help.
What kind of computer are you using?  (I.e. Windows based or Apple?)
What web browser are you using?  E.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari.

Are you using the print button from inside the frame? I.e. not the regular print button of your web browser.  Does using the Manual bingo cards download link to save the file to your computer first work?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't know enough about the Red Hat Society to come up with a word list for a bingo theme... but if anyone has 25 relevant words, I'll be glad to add that to our list of templates.

Hi barbiesleftpump,

Thanks for the post.  Maybe I wasn't clear in the solution that I posted previous to yours.

It's simple: there are blank lines at the end of the word columns that need to be removed if a user gets to our site using specific search terms that lead directly to our "blank" template card design.

We can't control where search engines send people on our website, but 95% of people get to our site via a page that does not cause the blank cells issue. Considering that hundreds of people use our site every day and complaints are few and far between, we think we're doing OK on providing value to our visitors, both free users and paid users.

Regards,

Leonard

Hi Bob,

We've had this come up in email and phone calls.  In all cases so far, there have been "easy to miss" blank lines at the end of one or more of the word/phrase columns.

What often has happened, is that some search engine links lead directly to our custom "blank" bingo card, which was intended to show just the grid with no terms.  Our "blank" bingo card is actually a custom bingo card design with a variety of "space" words that don't display anything when printed.

People using our site then add their own words "above" the blank lines that are already there and then get blank cells in the cards.

We're mulling some solutions to this...

Leonard

did you change your mind?

your code helped me out of getting an excel spreadsheet to an oracle database.
but i had to manually change a lot in the generated sql-code.  fields with dates,
numbers, ...

Sorry, no.  That bit of code stays closed-source for the time being.  Revamping tools.perceptus.ca is on the drawing board... it get's a lot more traffic than I ever expected it would get. Rather than make specific enhancements for Oracle, I've got some rough ideas for some ways to make it more useful for a lot of situations.

But, there's a lot of stuff ahead of it on the to-do list...

Hi Debra,

Did you open the save/send/share page of the site?  If so, and if you're a premium access user, I can probably pull the list up for you if you send me the approximate time that you generated the cards and a few of the unique words from the list.

Regards,

Leonard

Hi Amber,

Sorry for the late reply, your message got caught in our forum anti-spam software.  Did you ever get your blank squares problem fixed?  If not, please email info@print-bing.com or post a link here using the save/send/share option of print-bingo.com and I'll take a look at it.
