Just an idea for another text search-and-replace tool:

Replace all \n\n's to a token

then remove all \n's

and re-replace the token by double new lines, \n\n's

This to undo faulty line breaks in forwarded emails. i do that lot in my text editor, and maybe I'm not the only one...

eiland, thanks for the suggestion. 

That's a good suggestion, I've run into that situation too.  I'll put it on the suggestion list, but, don't hold your breath on it ever getting added... there's a long to-do list already.
