Have you already posted your header.pl, or will do just when setportfw is done?

Hi votum76,

(Working from memory,  still trying to shuffle data off a dying drive...)

I think the biggest change was redfining one of the constants that was used to validate IP addresses.  Instead of "IP_NUMBERS" being simply 0-9, I think i changed it to 0-9+A-Z somehow.

Hope this helps.

BTW, I'd love to get a copy of your updates when you've got it all working.

Regards,

LC

I had quick browse of the source files I originally put up on the web. It looks like I left the original setuid.h file in the archive as "setuid.h~".

Here's the one line I think I changed:

#define IP_NUMBERS "./" NUMBERS

Became:

#define IP_NUMBERS "./" LETTERS_NUMBERS

It's not the prettiest hack, but it worked at the time.

Regards!

Thanks for the link.  If I get time, and a machine to play with, I'll give this a test.

Do you mind if I put the files up on the web on my page?

my new image seems to work perfectly I would like to add the error checking back into the header.pl maybe I will fix that maybe not
one note: it seems the original version of the program which was made for the beta build really screwed up my smoothwall final with fixes 2 only by reinstalling smoothwall and then applying updates and then finally applying the files in my image did the process work.

Good to hear that it's working! Sometime this weekend I'll pop your file on the page.

I agree, it would be nice to put back some of the error checking - but I never got around to it.

Greg,

You're not going to get much help on any web forum when you describe your problem as "I am stuck".  What are stuck at?  Using winimage? Using the mod?
